Summary: This book features over 100 artworks exploring the legacy of Parihaka and its leaders, Te Whiti o Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi. The book also includes historical and contemporary photographs; commissioned essays on the history, art, literature and contemporary significance of Parihaka; and new poems by leading writers. Many of the teachings and sayings of Te Whiti and Tohu are reproduced in full with extensive annotation by Te Miringa Hohaia.
