Booklist Review

In the eighth romance in Owens' Heart series set on Celta, a planet colonized by pagans from earth, Signet D'Marigold, the last of her line who has never really discovered her psi power (or Flair), unhappily lives as one of the idle rich in Druida. She finally learns what her Flair is when Great Lord Vinni T'Vine, a powerful 13-year-old seer, sees that she is a catalyst, able to help other people's Flair develop and change and that she is the only one who can help his HeartMate, 7-year-old brain-injured Avellana Hazel. The cast of characters includes the very pretty, thoughtful, and socially adept sentient mansion Marigold Residence; several new Fams, including two very different felines; and conflicts and meetings of characters from previous books in the series. After a slow start, the story accelerates as new dangers to Avellana crop up, and the relationship between Signet and Cratag develops, making for a satisfying read.--Tixier Herald, Diana Copyright 2009 Booklist
