Booklist Review

Puns (and dogs) rule. Wordplay is among the many talents that artist-author Roberts (Crafting for Cat Ladies, 2017) brings to this creative compendium of canine-themed crafts. None of the three-dozen projects require unusual skills, though a basic sewing machine might prove useful in a few cases. Every design includes a list of materials, bone-simple instructions, and step-by-step photographs for any instance in which the fashioning might prove difficult. Gluing, easy stitching, and painting are the more popular techniques required here, and Roberts includes tips here and there to ensure great results (e.g., use rubbing alcohol to remove ink markings on coffee cups). Appealing too are the seven dog models (find their biographies in the appendix) and, of course, the designs themselves: a dachshund shopping tote or color-block Dalmatian women's shoes for owners, or an adjustable collar and cozy dog bed to help canines put their best paws forward. Appended with 17 pages of templates and a resource list to help readers on their way to crafting a dog-friendly home.--Barbara Jacobs Copyright 2019 Booklist
