Booklist Review

In this health-fitness-food guide, TV host and personal trainer Harris provides sound advice from the heart. A breast cancer diagnosis and double mastectomy prompted her to reconsider all aspects of her life, from her food to her attitude. She shares her thoughts and fears candidly, then details her eight-point roadmap for achieving the ""healthiest healthy."" Much information echoes other sources (as it probably should); what's newer here is Harris' DIY approach to a holistic life, which includes, for instance, a worksheet to track gratitude, an activities list for family fitness, an illustrated guide for breast self-exams, and a chart that identifies the not-so-good ingredients in household and body care products. Sidebars called healthy hacks remind gently of things readers might already know (and occasionally may have chosen to forget), such as keeping portion sizes in mind and avoiding social media to stay positive. The 10 recipes that transcend vegan categorization are a bonus. Life, for real.--Barbara Jacobs Copyright 2018 Booklist
